Hospital bag checklist for Mom and Baby

With your due date just around the corner, it's time to get your hospital bag ready.

It is a good idea to start packing your hospital bag by 36 or 37 weeks of pregnancy, as you may go into labor sooner than expected.

The hospital will likely provide you with some free items, such as disposable mesh underwear, grip socks, a labor and delivery gown, extra-thick sanitary pads, and a few basic toiletries (soap and toothbrush). However, you may prefer to bring your own versions of these items or some extras, just in case.

Here is a list of essential items (and some additional items that may be helpful) for mom and baby to pack for the hospital or birthing center. Hospital Bag checklist for mom and baby is a good starting point, but it is important to check with your hospital or birthing center to see what they provide and what you need to bring from home.

Tips for packing your hospital bag:

  • Pack your bag early, so you have plenty of time to get everything you need.

  • Label your bags clearly with your name and your baby's name.

  • Pack a few extra items, just in case.

  • Don't forget to pack your phone and charger!
